Inheritance tax and gift tax in Japan
Our service provision has the following three phases. You can use each service individually. However, if you have already inherited but are not sure if you have a tax return obligation, please use the Phase 1 service first.
Phase 1: Overview Consulting
In a one-hour online interview, we will ask you about your specific situation and then explain the outline of Japan’s inheritance tax that may affect you. In many cases, you will be able to imagine the general direction in this one hour.
The fee is 30,000 yen (excluding tax).
Phase 2: Detailed analysis and tax simulation
Based on specific evidence documents, we will organize more detailed and specific tax implications, simulate the tax amount, and prepare a memorundam.
This service is recommended for people who have not yet inherited, but would like to understand the expected tax amount and impact for future inheritance, and also want to explore possible measures before inheritance.
The fee is estimated based on the information in Phase 1, and is usually around 150,000 to 300,000 yen (excluding tax).
Phase 3: Tax return preparation and filing agency
When an inheritance actually occurs, we will support you to ensure that you are fully compliant with tax returns.
